Using the full power of Value Stream Maps

In this lean post Drew Locher argues that many organisations do not use the full power of the lean tool Value Steam Map.  Many organisations merely draw current state maps with a few “Kaizen bursts” and do not include and manage future state maps.  “Kaizen bursts” will help to reduce some process wastes, but they do not tackle ‘flow’, ‘pull’ ‘levelling’ and management of future state maps which are the true value creating aspects of lean.
